In today’s global economy, multinational corporations (MNCs) are transformative players that reshape local economies and drive foreign direct investments (FDIs).

MNCs bring more than just investment capital to host countries. They introduce advanced technologies, create high-paying jobs, and provide opportunities for local enterprises to integrate into global value chains.

In this context, the Armenian government and the national investment promotion agency, Enterprise Armenia, are proactively working to attract companies from Forbes’s "Most Valuable Brands" and the "Fortune Global 500" list.

Huawei: Pioneering Partnerships for Armenia's Growth

The Huawei Technologies company has been operating in Armenia’s trade and communication sectors for over 10 years and is supported under Enterprise Armenia’s Aftercare Services Program.

For an extended period, Enterprise Armenia has been consistently working with Huawei Technologies Research & Development’s Belgian branch to establish a Research and Development (R&D) center in Armenia.

These discussions entered a practical phase months ago. Specifically, during a virtual meeting with the company, Enterprise Armenia provided comprehensive information about the strategic importance of Armenia’s ICT sector, the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the industry, and the new legislative package aimed at regulating and promoting the tech sector.

At the initiative of Enterprise Armenia, a meeting was organized with the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia. The discussions addressed opportunities to involve young professionals from Armenian universities, enhance workforce development through structured training programs, and collaborate in the fields of research and development (R&D) and integrated technical solutions.

At the recent Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon, Enterprise Armenia’s leadership met with senior Huawei representatives to present trends in Armenia’s ICT sector and reaffirm the Armenian government’s commitment to fostering this collaboration. Additionally, during the Technological Innovation Semiconductor Olympiad 2024 in Dilijan, Enterprise Armenia’s investment promotion team discussed Armenia’s business and investment environment with Huawei, highlighting the country’s dynamic high-tech industry, competitive tax policies, and highly skilled workforce.

Armenia: A Boundless Environment for Innovation

Armenia’s strategic location, highly skilled workforce, robust ICT ecosystem, and government-backed incentives make it a highly attractive destination for FDIs. With over 200 research and development centers and a growing startup community, Armenia offers an unparalleled environment for innovation and growth.

Through its "Single Widnow" services, Enterprise Armenia provides comprehensive support to multinational corporations, including Huawei, ensuring smooth entry and operations within the country.

The presence of multinational corporations like Huawei underscores Armenia’s growing appeal as a global investment hub. By fostering strong relationships with international giants, Enterprise Armenia not only encourages FDI inflows but also lays the foundation for a sustainable and innovative economic future.
